As part of Year 6 & 7's work on rocks and landscapes, we visited Cheddar Gorge and caves, to deepen our understanding of limestone landscapes. The children got to see, first hand, all of the features studied in class and wondered at the scale of some of the features within the caves. We also toured the Pre-History museum and enjoyed the clever mirror effects used within it, and climbed 247 steps to the top of Cheddar's 'Jacob's ladder', taking a journey back in rock history. The look out tower proved to be a particular hit with the fantastic weather affording us all an amazing view! The children were a delight throughout and we had a fantastic day!
