Our intrepid team of five skiers spent part of their Easter Holidays training at Britain’s newest snow centre in Hemel Hempstead to practice their slalom. At the end of April the team travelled again to the snow centre to compete in the ISA Indoor Ski Championships, against 180 other children racing, from schools all over the country.
The children had a warm-up on the slope, followed by two runs down the course and their fastest time was counted. The results were as follows:
Monty Coldridge (U8) - 2nd
Deven Trotman (U10) - 9th
Charlie Haskins (U14) - 22nd
Barney Coldridge (U12) - 22nd
Emily Szor (U12) - 29th
These were fantastic results and Kitebrook came 7th out of 24 schools in the mixed team category. This was the first time Kitebrook competed in this event and we are looking forward to taking a team again next year. Well done to the team!
