Welcome

Welcome to Kitebrook Preparatory School for 3-13 year-old boys and girls. Set in the idyllic Cotswolds, Kitebrook provides an outstanding all-round education where children are allowed to develop at their own pace in a happy and supportive environment that inspires self-confidence and a sen...

  • Growth Mindset

    Initiative

“Initiative is doing the right thing without being told.” Victor Hugo

Producing strong leaders who will bring forth new ideas and creativity in the future is another strength in the Kitebrook learning environment. Through encouraging our pupils to take the initiative we show them the joy of taking responsibility for the positive action in their world.

  • Growth Mindset

    Taking Risks

“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.” Pablo Picasso

It is perhaps understandable to believe that the idea of taking risks is somewhat cavalier; however it is by taking risks that we make new things happen. By moving things along and down new paths, we learn what works and what does not work. This helps us to progress, to improve and ultimately learn. It is the essential expression of creativity.

  • Growth Mindset

    Focus

“Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.” Alexander Graham Bell

Keeping focused on our learning builds strong, capable pupils ready to face further education, and later on, careers. We keep things simple and straightforward with a clear understanding of what it is we are here to do—to learn.

  • Growth Mindset

    Collaboration

“I believe change can only come through collaboration.” Alain de Botton

Collaboration means teamwork and at Kitebrook we value the wonderful things that can be achieved by working together as a team. We believe every voice is important and each individual matters in our learning environment and in building our community. By collaborating, we gain a unique insight into the original thoughts of others and are therefore stimulated to generate new ideas which are made possible through this joining of minds.

  • Growth Mindset

    Resilience

“Resilience is all about being able to overcome the unexpected. The goal of resilience is to thrive.” Jamais Cascio

Along with risk taking comes the concept of breaking new ground which brings with it a certain element of apprehension; it is through resilience that we have the courage to see things through. Kitebrook aims to encourage managed risk taking and the resilience required to contribute to the achievement of success.

  • Growth Mindset

    Empathy

“We all have empathy, but we may not have enough courage to display it.” Maya Angelou

The social virtue of empathy is such a successful way to immerse oneself into the community. Through empathy, me becomes us and it is thorough this that we really work together as a team. At Kitebrook, we encourage empathy and compassion so our pupils are able to contribute positively to the school’s environment and, later on as adults, to society as a whole. The world needs good people and we hope our pupils carry a little bit of their Kitebrook years with them on their life’s journey.

  • Growth Mindset

    Self Reflection

“Continuous effort—not strength or intelligence—is the key to unlocking our potential.” Winston Churchill

Our school’s achievements are the sum total of everyone’s individual efforts. Through this effort, in our collective sense of achievement, we gain satisfaction from our life at school. It is the effort of the individual which makes a community thrive, and by encouraging this skill at school our children are more prepared to contribute fully in their society.

  • Growth Mindset

    Perseverance

“Through perseverance many people win success out of what seemed destined to be certain failure.” Benjamin Disraeli

Success is not down to luck. Success depends on our dedication and hard work in both our studies and in our love of learning. The strong and supportive environment of our school helps pupils achieve their best and to be rewarded for their hard work and perseverance.
