Prayers

Prayers (which others may call Assembly) at Kitebrook is an important part of the day. In one morning’s prayers, we celebrate the children’s achievements and successes; in another we enjoy God’s world outside and learn about the life of Jesus. In yet another, children give a presentation on something important to them, and we learn new hymns to sing. A much loved celebration is our Christingle service by candlelight; the children love decorating their oranges and learning about the symbolism. We also have a special service on Remembrance Day, not to mention our Christmas Carol Service, and sometimes we have visiting speakers in order to widen our horizons.

The Prayers’ Table is arranged by the children, graced with a wooden cross, covered in a cloth (some of these cloths had been embroidered in the past in sewing lessons with animals, birds and plants) and seasonal flowers and foliage.

Oh Lord, we have come together to begin a new week.

Help us to try our hardest in all that we do and help us to care for one another so that we may all live happily together through Jesus Christ who gave us your example of how to live.

And Father in thy loving care keep thy children everywhere in thy love so strong and true, keep us all our whole lives through.

Amen
